Matilda and Louise caning detention Part One Matilda’s caning – At Home with Miss Iceni

Matilda and Louise have been sent to Headmistress for a detention. This time it’s serious. They have been selling essay-writing and carrying out paid homework. Headmistress takes cheating and inappropriate business ventures at the school to be a serious matter, so both girls are told they will take the cane. They are to be caned separately while the other has to wait nervously outside Headmistress’ study, hearing the swish of the cane and her friend’s gasps of pain the other side of the door. Matilda has to go first, while Louise waits nervously outside.
