Following a fire at Mrs Woods’ stables, the Fire Officer is called in to investigate the circumstances. Concerned by his findings, he enquires whether any of the stable girls could have been smoking. Having found the cause of the fire and the culprits, Faith, Nimue & Clover are presented with a choice; either the police are involved or the careless girls take a very severe beating indeed.
