Femdom, or female dominance, refers to BDSM activities where the dominant partner is a female. The word Femdom can also stand for female dominant, and a female dominant is sometimes called a domme or domina. A female professional dominant is often referred to as a dominatrix.

The submissive partner can either be male (F/M, femdom/malesub) or female (F/F, femdom/femsub). However some people seem to equate “femdom” with F/M.

This is the opposite of Maledom where the dominant partner is male.
